Two very special days in the life of the Christian community, are particularly important at Saint Peter’s: All Saints Day and Día de los Muertos (Dia de los todos los santos and Day of the dead).
All Saints Day, celebrated ecumenically in the churches of “the West” on the nearest Sunday, is particularly important to churches located within or with heritage in the northern parts of Europe. Día de los Muertos is particularly important in Latin America and the parts of Europe from which colonizers to Central and South America came. Here at Saint Peter’s, with people whose heritages are from across this entire spectrum, both of these days are deeply embedded into faith, piety and identity. Together, our rich diversity makes these days, for us, much more than the sum of all our parts.
