46 Days: Reaching the evaluation stage

Dear faithful people of Saint Peter’s,

With the staff, I have compiled our progress this week into the points below. We will send out updates like this one each Friday.

Now that we are "behind the walls," consultants are evaluating the various systems there: architecture, HVAC, electric, structure, etc. The Condominium Board is completing this evaluation as are we. The goal is to obtain as much information as possible so as to most comprehensively determine next steps. Offsite, the organ is being reconstructed and evaluated. The sanctuary's riser seating will also go offsite soon.

Like me, I hope you will be heartened by reaching the evaluation stage. This phase will give us a total picture of the loss sustained to the building, as well as lead to an early look at the future -- however long the road -- ahead.

Grace and peace to you,

Jared R. Stahler

Senior Pastor

  • The Klais organ is currently being reassembled in the workshop of C.B. Fisk in Gloucester, MA. The Fisk team will prepare and submit a report on the condition of the organ in the coming weeks.

  • We have started to receive reports from the specialists mentioned last week -- architect, environmental hygienist, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing consultant.

  • We have hired a Structural Geo-Technical Consultant to access the condition of the exterior perimeter and the foundation of the building.
