We Get Letters

FROM LENOX HILL NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE, PARTNER IN THE OLDER ADULTS CENTER AT SAINT PETER'S, FOLLOWING THEIR ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER AND DANCE:

Hundreds of our members of our Older Adult Centers, including Saint Peter’s, as well as some of our community partners and our local elected officials, including New York State Senator Liz Krueger, Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright, Assembly Member Alex Bores and Council Member Keith Powers, were part of this long-standing tradition and community event. Thank you, [Pastor Stahler] for leading us in the blessing at the beginning of the program and evening festivities.

FROM THE CONSUL GENERAL OF MEXICO IN NEW YORK FOR THE CELEBRATION OF NUESTRA SEÑORA DE GUADALUPE:

From the very first day I arrived in New York, Saint Peter’s has been a second home for the Mexican community and a sanctuary where we have worked together to protect the labor and human rights of migrant people.

FROM A LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR THE CONSERVANCY'S EFFORT TO REBUILD THE CENTER FOR COMMUNITY, ARTS AND CULTURE:

One of the ways the Jazz Foundation of America has been able to be a long-time partner with the Conservancy is through Jazz Memorials. These end-of-life celebrations give space for, as George Wein, founder of The Newport Jazz Festival said, “friends to be able to not only pay their respects, but play their respects.” These and the other jazz events at Saint Peter’s, offered free to the public, are an opportunity for musicians and audiences to find inspiration and build community.

Saint Peter’s has not only been a site for acknowledging the contributions of historic musical figures but a place where jazz history itself has been made. It abounds with meaning and plays a unique and ongoing role in an international cultural ecosystem.
