On Sunday, July 14, members of Saint Peter’s Church and Central Synagogue volunteered in shifts throughout the day to monitor the entrances of Saint Peter’s Church. Volunteers had examples of court-signed warrants and so-called “ICE warrants" in the event ICE agents attempted to enter the building. Volunteers distributed to members of the Saint Peter’s/Sion community information about constitution-protected rights for immigrants as well as information on how to provide accompaniment.
