Insurance update and skylight replacement news

Saint Peter’s Church building is undergoing a complex skylight replacement, with several related projects. It is also undergoing remediation following the January 4 City water main break that destroyed much of the building. These projects have begun to dovetail with one another. Below, please find the latest updates.

Flood Recovery

The “contents” insurance claim has been enumerated and we have moved on to the “building” insurance claim. A number of additional expert reports are being prepared that will be part of this claim. Plans for addressing the Sanctuary riser seating and the glass entry doors have been developed, but cannot be acted on until the building claim is complete. Much work has been done to repair the main elevator, but confirmation that all water damage has been remediated remains an open item. Evaluations of the organ and pianos are complete, and initial plans for remediation are being developed.

“contents” claim complete
“building” insurance claim underway

Anticipated Project Schedule Remaining:
TBD but with emphasis on remediating the Sanctuary ASAP (likely Fall, 2021)
