Diaconal Journey of Erin Brown: Sara Feature

We look forward to celebrating the Consecration of Saint Peter’s own Erin Brown on April 7, 2024! Erin was approved for consecration last fall by the Lutheran Diaconal Association. In preparation, we have asked key people from Erin’s journey in Christ to reflect on her gifts, kindness, and growth in the weeks leading up to her consecration. Check out Sara Manning’s feature below!

How do you know Erin and what is your role/job now?

Erin and I met in college and have been best friends ever since! I am currently in my third year at Princeton Theological Seminary working toward a dual MDiv/MA degree focused on theology and ecology.

How have you experienced her growing in Christ?

I think the biggest way I have seen Erin growing is that she continues to grow in her preaching and sharing of her deep profound thoughts and reflections about God and the message of the gospel. We are all better for her sharing her wrestling's and reflections with us.

What memory do you have with Erin, one where she is using her gifts/following in the footsteps of Christ?

I have so many memories with Erin it is hard to pick just one, but I think one of my favorites is when we would play uke together, especially the time we went hammocking behind the LDA [Lutheran Diaconal Association] and played our ukes in the trees. Erin has a gift for playing/leading music and it is always a gift when we get to do that together.
