WILLIAM REED HUNTINGTON MEMORIAL SERMON

The Rev. Dr. Mark S. Hanson, Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will be the preacher for the annual William Reed Huntington Memorial Sermon on the first day of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 6:00 in the evening. 

The presiding minister will be the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, the Most Reverend Frank T. Griswold.  Also participating will be Bishop Stephen P. Bouman of the ELCA Metropolitan New York Synod; Bishop Mark S. Sisk of the Episcopal Diocese of New York; the Rev. Canon J. Robert Wright, professor of ecclesiastical history at General Theological Seminary and president of the Anglican Society; and the Rev. J. Donald Waring, Rector of Grace Church, who will bring the loving cup which was presented to Huntington as a symbol of the continuing legacy of this visionary preacher and churchman.
