10 Days: Initial Cleanup Completed

Dear faithful people of Saint Peter’s,

This has been another week of dramatic ups and downs. Last week's flood brought rushing water and mud into the Sanctuary and Lower Level 2 — a shock to us all. Yet, the swift and decisive response of our staff and community gives us all hope for the future.

With the staff, I have compiled our progress this week into the points below. We will send out updates like this one each Friday.

Grace and peace to you,

Jared R. Stahler
Senior Pastor

  • We are now 10 days post-flood and we are nearly complete with phase 1. We’ve completed the initial clean-up effort, getting the standing water out and shoveling the mud out of the building.

  • All items have been removed from effected areas, including the theater, and we will soon move into phase 2, which will include remediation of Lower-Level 2.

  • We are working with an industrial hygienist as well as a master carpenter to remove and preserve architectural areas, such as the paneling in the music room, and will work to salvage and reuse as much original material as we can from the Lower-Level 2 rooms.

  • Saint Peter’s Administration & Finance cabinet, Parish Council and Executive Committee have met and are helping to manage this work.

  • Until further notice we are live streaming services partially from the church and partially from people’s homes.

  • All weekly online programming continues uninterrupted!
